Dorothy Alston Calley currently serves at Biola as an Instructor of Communication Studies and the Interim Director of Forensics. She has a Masters degree in Social Justice in Intercultural Relations from the School for International Training and a B.A. in Communication Studies from Biola University. Professor Calley has served as an AmeriCorps member in Vermont and worked for many years with non-profits focusing on affordable housing, at-risk youth, and workforce development. She first learned about Biola when she was living in the Philippines as a missionary kid. As a Third Culture Kid, she is passionate about teaching communication skills that foster cross-cultural understanding and deepen interpersonal relationships. Dorothy and her husband John Calley reside in Whittier.
