Jenna Canillas Stein is an educator specializing in the area of English learners and second language acquisition. Drawing from almost twenty years of experience teaching K-12 English Learners of various proficiency levels as well as adult ESL learners, she is motivated by a desire to prepare the next generation of teachers to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse students and families. Her professional roles have included serving as District ELD Coach, coordinating English Learner Programs at the district level, providing K-12 professional development in best practices for teaching English Learners, and mentoring new teachers of English Learners as a BTSA support provider and BTSA academy instructor. She holds a M.A. in Applied Linguistics with a Certificate in TESOL from Biola University's Cook School of Intercultural Studies. Her goal is to enable teachers to see each child as a unique opportunity to share God's love, and to be fully equipped as educators, ready for the challenges and joys of teaching in diverse educational settings.
