A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR

Welcome to the Biola Speech/Language Clinic

One distinctive of Biola’s Communication Disorders program is our Speech-Language clinic. The clinic serves two purposes. First, it is a learning experience for our students.  Second, we have the privilege of serving our community by providing therapy to both children and adults with various communication disorders.  As a student clinician you have the opportunity to put into practice what you are learning in the classroom.

You are required to complete two units of clinic for graduation.  You may choose to do this in one semester or two.  Students sometimes choose to take more than two units of clinic (up to six units) to increase their knowledge and experience.  This is highly encouraged.

Prof. Hernandez

Many of our graduates have told us that this experience has helped them be ahead of the game as they enter graduate school.  With the clinical experience they receive here at Biola, they feel much more confident and equipped to serve the clients they meet in graduate school.

As we continue to try and improve our clinical practicum, we look for God’s guidance for our students, their clients, and their families.

Yvana Hernandez, Clinic Director

And whatever you do in word or deed do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through Him
